Delta Air Lines is having what might possibly be the most-popular job search in a long time: More than 100,000 people have applied for just 1,000 openings as flight attendants.
Wow. I've always thought that would be a cool job... like being a waitress/waiter, but you end up in a different location after each shift. Pretty neat! Obviously I'm not the only one who thinks that, LOL.
I've been hearing that people are applying to whatever they can no matter if they are qualifed or not. This could be that kind of case. If you've ever read the requirements for a flight attendant, I can guarantee you that a lot of the 100,000 people don't qualify. Flight attendants don't get paid much either, just the free travel is a nice perk

FA are so burned out. Pay is low. Morale is low. Benefits are cut. Dealing with unhappy, grouchy people, you are the focal of their frustrations. Night after night in hotels. Jet lag. Filthy working conditions. Exposed to people and all their germs. Airport hassles. Drink carts.
Ever wonder why 95% of FA look completely out of it and impersonal?

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. My sister's mother-in-law (got that? ) was a flight attendant for TWA, back when they were still called stewardesses - sometime in the 1960s-70s. She's said it was quite glamorous back then, but she got burned out pretty quickly. Traveling is great, but I guess not so much when you're doing it practically 24/7.

The one thought that enters my mind is : you are in a tight space and all the passengers are coughing on you and you probrobly can't wear a mask and you likely get SICK alot being a flight attendant..

Maybe I am wrong with the circulated air ?
No, you're probably right! I get sick SO often after flying, and it can't just be a random coincidence. But speaking of illness-inducing jobs, I couldn't avoid the regular colds when I was working with kids... or as I like to call them, walking germ-bags. LOL
Actually 100 applicants for a position isn't bad. I frequently hear about 300 or more per position.
