I had a second interview today with the VP. It was a really short interview and she barely asked me questions. She did say the previous interviewer, the Director of Education really wanted her to meet me especially before they go on break which is Dec. 23rd (I applied at a school so they have a one week winter break), because they need to hire by the new year (Jan. 3rd).
She just reviewed my resume and made me fill out a background check application. I asked how long does it take to run the check and she replied three days, that's why she's rushing to do this now. She says I will get a call from the director. While I was filling out the form I asked a lot of questions about her and the school, because I want to show her that I'm interested and to fill in the awkward silence. But is it really necessary to have the second interview be concise and all I had to do was fill out a form. Also I sent out a personal thank you email to the Director of Education after my interview. I don't know the VP's information, therefore I couldn't send one out to her. Hopefully that would raise my chances.
Is it possible that a short interview meant that they'll turn me down and she didn't like me?
It either could be great (they love you and just wanted a final check of you and wanted you to fill the application out), or eh (the short interview=the VP wasn't interested) or somewhere in between. It's such a crapshoot! Did you send a thank you email for the first interview? If you know the format of the email addresses for the company (firstname.lastname@company.com, for example), I'd shoot her a thank you. Good luck!
