right now the hottest construction area is in north dakota - they found oil out there and have crews drilling - right now those men are living in trailer style dorms as the housing in the area is not meeting its demands - the bad news is due to the climate the building season is very short but you
should try for next season - its gotten so crazy there i heard from a gal i know that lives there that mickey d workers are earning over 10.00 an hour - i tried to move there but the problem was i couldnt find a place to live - its been a while since i had that thought but i believe the area is around a town called stanley nd

None really.
Meaning that where construction *is* active...
the established locals are handling it all just fine; tyvm. Ya know?

If you have some special skill or experience there might be exceptions.

As for paces like ND...

I saw McD's advertising $10 an hour when I was in Bozeman MT in '05 too.
Maybe... but living expenses until you get hired on and then after will kill you.

Don't go without a SOLID lined up in advance.
Good luck.

Construction is about the deadest sector of the economy. Until this depression started I didn't realize there are degrees of death. One of the least dead, where buildings are actually going up, is Silicon Valley. There are even a few speculative office buildings under construction.
