Yeah, I'm also weary of any ad that doesn't list a company name, location, email address, and phone number and a name you can reach. All this is very important when you're using Craigslist. I actually find it more helpful than Indeed.com.
The two most overhyped websites in regards to employment
I've gotten jobs on Craigslist and LinkedIn. I'm not looking for full-time jobs, though; I'm a freelancer, so I look for contract jobs. I also place ads on Craigslist periodically; I've gotten a few bites, but not too many. It's simple to just hit "renew" once per week or every few weeks, change wording around, etc, though, so I do it.
I've never checked out Indeed.com... I think I will, though!
Craigslist works if you live in a larger city that people have actually heard of... Not so much if you live in a smaller town.. Doesnt hurt to look but unless you live in a larger city or close to larger cities dont be surprised if you dont find anything...
The two most overhyped websites in regards to employment
1. Linkedin
2. Indeed.com
Using Linkedin seemed like a waste of time for me. Since the only people I found were the ones I worked with at the job I was just laid off from back in August and we were all in the same boat. I didnt get the point of that..
I think sometimes Indeed is worthless but sometimes things are valid too.. I think it all depends on where u live and who posts what where.. Once you figure that out use those sites..

I haven't used Linkedin yet, but I know some people have. It's a crapshoot...some say it didn't work and some say it didn't. I'm tired of networking sites to be honest with you.

I think it's the exact opposite actually. Sites like Indeed.com, Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com, etc. are great if you live in a bigger city, but if you live in a smaller town and it's hard to find what's there in little corners of the area, that's where Craigslist has helped me. I live in a rundown crap small town and it's helped me get some interviews and job offers.
