Good Afternoon guys!!!! I`m stressed with these fake postings. I just came back from checking out a posting they have "OPEN"on Career-builders.com and also happened to be one my friend referred to me. My friend made it very clear they were hiring about 4 receptionist positions and sounded really convincing. She even went as far as telling me "2 girls girls got hired last week".

I even called the place to make sure they were hiring and they assured me "yes we are" and that I have to go in to fill the application.

Sooooooo after driving 12 miles....... I go into the location for HR to tell me no they aren't hiring. So at that point I`m a little irritated and I ask her why does the post say they are and she goes " we keep it open to keep receiving applications but we aren't REALLY hiring". I just looked and her, wished her a good day and walked out.

I need some wine. LOL

That is so typical these days...

I think what she probably meant to say was, "Well, we're not really hiring... unless you'll do more work than the people who are already here for less money... and only if the boss likes you!"

A few months back, I ran into this crap at a local engineering company. I had applied to their jobs for a year and a half, and then I finally got an interview. Note that the interview almost didn't happen because the company's automated resume filter system was simply rejecting everyone because nobody could exactly match all their job requirements?! Well, the hiring manager got sick of that and somehow forced HR to let him interview people. I then learned that while I had been applying for the past 1.5 years to jobs, none of those jobs had been real and the place only recently was considering hiring anyone... ARGH - then why post the jobs?!

The interviews seemed to go well, though they had over 100 applicants for a single engineering position... I love this "Recovery" - and then the company in the end decided to hire no one (because its cheaper) and is now back to posting the same fake job openings over and over again! I guess HR decided to let the manager interview candidates provided he didn't hire any of them!

Whatever... I give up!
