It's usually slow around the holidays at this time of year. Companies are preparing for next year and usually want to wait until the beginning of the year to add someone to the payroll and all that good stuff.
Maybe it's just me, but got two written job offers and a verbal job offer last week. Companies trying to hire someone to start fresh at the beginning of the year. But the job process was started back in mid-November and had to work around people's vacation plans, Thanksgiving and other issues when doing interviews. Would do a first interview, then wait two weeks for a second round of interviews, then wait another week to hear back from these companies.
I went to an interview in earlier december and the manager told me they will be very busy for the whole month, maybe longer. I was told that it would be a while before I heard anything and if I didn't hear anything don't assume nothing.
ya its commin knowlege employers dont wanna hire you right before holidays for tax reasons and because everything is winding down for the year, everyone taking vacations, especially hiring managers. you may land an interview and get setup for something beginning of year but most likely days before xmas nothing is happening the rest of the year.
I've interviewed for a couple jobs. Normally, I would hear back quickly, but since it's the holiday season, I won't hear back until after. That's how it goes around this time of year. Companies don't make any major changes until January.
