Do you need the job? Why did you turn it down? It could have been a foot in the door and possibly given you an advantage down the road since you would be an internal candidate.
The grocery store has a pharmacy AND a gas station? A bank and a massage parlor would make this a one-stop shop.
Some Walmarts have all these things, and actually serve as a town's towne center, if you will. I kid you not. I visited Queen Creek, AZ about six years ago. These exist all over the Phoenix Metro especially in the newly developing parts of towns. The one down the street from my house has a hair salon, nail salon, Wells Fargo, McDonalds, gas station, pharmacy, and a Starbucks stand! And I am in the center of town!
