I've been looking for a new job because my company has announced that my facility is closing and they are moving our stuff to a facility about 20 miles farther away. The extra commute doesn't bother me, but something they said in the announcement makes me worry about the possibility of having much of a future with the company. Our facility deals with books and the said a key factor in the decision to move was that our customers didn't want to pay the rent on warehouse space when so much of the stuff that we carry has gone digital. They also said the lease in the new facility was up in 2017. It's not a new facility, but I'm calling it the new facility because it would be new for me. Anyway, they said that they would reevaluate the situation sometime in 2017 and make a decision then. So, everything going digital and then the fact that there is so little time left on the lease has me worried about the future of the company in this area so I've been putting in applications and sending resumes.
I had an interview yesterday. It was me and 2 "interviewers". The "interview" itself was the easiest I've ever had. It consisted of: 1) Do you have a valid driver's license? 2) Do you have transportation to work? 3) What shift are you most interested in? and 4) Are there any scheduling conflicts that you know you'd need off for such as medical appointments, already scheduled vacations, or anything else?
Other than those 4 questions, the "interview" consisted of them telling me about the company and the particular job that I was interviewing for, the hiring process, advancement opportunities, and a little about the benefits.
Even though it sounds like quite a bit was covered, the whole thing took maybe 15 minutes from the time I got led into the office and I even asked a few questions myself. Another man was interviewed before me and his interview took like 45 minutes or I think anyway. I don't know when he actually left because you go out a different door than you come in so he could have been done quickly too and they were just reviewing my application before they called me in.
Anyway, my question is this. Based on what I've told you, does it sound like I should at least be moving on in the hiring process?
There is no possible way of knowing. You will drive yourself crazy lady I king for secret "tells" and attempting to read the unreadable tea leaves. The only way to find out is to wait for them to call (or not call.) I wish you the best of luck and I hope everything works out for you!

I am proud to say that I got the phone call today and received a contingent job offer. Now I just need to pass my drug test and background check, neither of which is an issue for me, and I'll receive a formal offer.
