I think you make mistake while applying for job, either the job category is not right or job portal where you apply. Sometimes the job portal tools are not up to the mark so recruiter are unable to find the right person for the job. So be choosy in case of job portals where you apply online for the job. I think this will help to finding your dream job at some extent.
I usually go to indeed or straight to the employers website.
I've applied to so many jobs and even had a few phone interviews but never hear anything back. I write cover letters, tailor my resume to each job, try learning new skills to make myself more marketable, even had my resume professionally evaluated, tried networking, job fairs, re-writing my resume, more networking, asked businesses in person if they're hiring (apply online), etc...still nada. What am I missing here?

Iv been lookin for work since mid of may 2013. the Lady @ the EEOC in Dallas said I had 3 strikes against me; #1- Im 60, #2 The only white in the department & #3- 'the highest paid, so my 8 years working @ Save-a-lot warehouse was all for nothing. 'never late, no accidents, no call-in's...so, 'your not alone...
