i just apply job last month for cable installer, i sent resume and i met with manager and he said after screen drug test and background check you will be hired.(it was last tuesday) i got email on friday for drug test and i did on monday. i called monday to manager about i finished drug test.
he said thanks and i should have a background check update today(monday)or tomorrow which will be today.
i am so worry about my background check. 2 things
1) Unfortunately , in my resume didn"t say about my last employer which is after about 12 month i was fired for .too many off day(my son was on hospital)
2) financial problem. one or two account charge off, total debit $7600. credit score :500 poor
i just call to manager today (text message) and also send email . he never respond.
with this two major problem you guys think can i pass background check?
no one will know that answer except the employer. It all depends upon what their criteria is for hiring. You will just have to wait it out until they contact you.

If I fail the background check , they will contact me ?
I would think they would contact you if you made it that far in the interview process but no one can be certain of that either. Every employer is different.
They 'may' take their old sweet time to inform you if you don't pass it because they wouldn't need you any longer, but I would still think they would let you know sooner or later.

did you put down a contact for the company that you were fired from? If so, they will contact tjat employer and ask questions .
Also, with the low credit, some companies will overlook that. It jist depends on the company.

It's doubtful that the background check would reveal the reason for your dismissal from the previous job, unless your previous employer is not too bright. Most cable customers would not like to have an installer with financial difficulties wandering around their home, however that is often something that the potential employer will allow you to explain and you seem to have a solid reason. It really depends on your competition for the position(s). With all else being equal, the person with a better background check is most likely to be hired.
