I have been very lucky to have 20 phone/in person interviews since Labor Day and even though I may wind up in the top 5 or 10, I can never seal the deal. Naturally, I am a very anxiety ridden person and I have lost 3 jobs this year due to lack of detail, probably caused by my adult ADHD. Is it possible I am too talkative or oversell myself on these interviews?

anything is possible.. but out of these 20 phone interviews how many in person did you land? Phone interviews are done to weed out the people that obviously aren't right and are usually done by HR.

Twelve in person interviews is not bad. It shows you're making some progress as getting an in person interview is difficult in itself. Yes, it's frustrating beyond belief, but remember you're also getting interview practice. Every interview you get opens an opportunity to prepare yourself for a new way to sell yourself.

Sounds like you have a great resume...

...but you are bombing the interviews.

Or, likewise, the interviewers are being made aware for the first time during the interview process that you were let go 3 times. I can't think of a single job where attention to detail isn't important. There seems to be an underlying emotional issue that needs to be addressed first.

Hmmm, I would imagine its one of these:

1) Nervous, even though I will take a Xanax a few hours beforehand
2) Asking too much money or just out of their salary range
3) Sending thank you email within 2 hours of the interview and following up every week
4) Talk to much in order to sell myself over the other candidates

''Talk too much'' can be a biggie and is one that I struggle with. Mostly out of nervousness and because I am naturally a talker.
How old are you? That could be the reason you are not getting offers.
It is definitely an issue a lot of the time.

1) Skip the Zanax. Instead, study, practice, and prepare. Interviewing is a learned skill, period.
2) Generally, it is not a good idea to bring up money in the first interview. If they do, that's different.
3) Love the thank-you email, not a fan of the followup.
4) If you are talking too much, they won't see it as you selling yourself. They will see it as you talking too much. Always answer the questions articulately and completely, but also remember that less is more.

Getting back to interviewing, there are a thousand articles on interviewing. Read every one, practice with interview questions in the car, in front of the mirror and with family.

Good luck.
