Ok need help! Went to job fair yesterday and was hired in the spot. I spoke with hr and they gave me soft offer and told me to fill out application online for that particular job. That is done and I'm waiting on reference checks. Then drug screen.. etc etc... do u think it's safe to give notice to my current job yet?

Heck no. You tell them you will give notice after all contingencies have been removed and you have a firm start date. You need something in writing.

As long as you think your background check will pass, then go ahead and put in the 2 week notice.

I wouldn't. Wait for an official offer.

Do you have a signed offer letter? Did you sign any official paperwork? If not, then it never happened.

Those Job fair "hire on the spot" is just a quick way to get applications to them. If they really wanted to hire you the spot ,you would have filled out a W2, get a offer letter and start date on were to meet and greet. I stay away from them honestly, Job fairs that is.. Just a shot gun affect to get people in the door to sweet talk you to work for them. Back stab ya later on..

Nope. Wait until you have an official offer and paperwork has gone through proper channels.

Don't give any notice until you have a written offer and start date!! Say nothing to anyone on the current job and nothing on social media. Ninja silence until all is official.
