Hi guys, sorry if this is posted in the wrong section :/

I started working at a new job as a CNA at an assisted living facility. I was there for one month and I got a call from my boss saying that I need to write a letter describing my DUI that I got 6 months ago and how it was a mistake and etc. Also, I need a note from someone who knows me personally and have them write a letter explaining the kind of person I am. I did both of these things and the same day, I turned them in to the HR. The HR then told me I need to have my fingerprints done. I did the fingerprints the next day. Two days after getting my fingerprints done, my boss texted me saying she got an email saying DHS emailed her saying they have received my fingerprints and she will let me know when they get back to her. She also said I’m a great worker and she’s going to “fight” for me lol. Anyways, it’s been almost a month now since I did my fingerprints. I’m sure this is normal? I don’t know... I did text my boss and she said “I haven’t heard anything from state yet” and that was two weeks ago. Haven’t texted her since because I don’t want to annoy her. Just wondering if I should move on or text her....

Thanks guys

There is nothing for you to do. Contacting her isn't going to make anything happen any faster. Do you have any non-disclosed arrests in your history? If you work with vulnerable populations, you will have to have a background check done no matter where you go.

Yeah, don't push too hard. They're waiting on the government, and nothing they can do can make that faster.

If the only thing on your record is that DUI, then you should have nothing to worry about, apparently they like you.
