Applying for jobs that allows to live where one wants, especially less known locations?? (remote job, interest)

I believe the last two years people finally realized they have options if they are fed up about the job making the decision of where they must live whether they like it or not or the affordability. One way is to become a digital nomad however legit remote jobs are hard to come by and many jobs that went remote due to the shutdown of offices are reversing that permission to allow their workers work remotely.

If someone wants from much of the rat race world i.e some Pacific island maybe a US territory. I know one way is to get a federal government job and hope to get transfered there. However they have to know what type lets them do so. The other is to become a contractor at a military institution. Or become a digital nomad for a remote employer. But what are some other choices though?

For Midway islands Atoll it appears the only way is to apply to become a volunteer for a few months. But there is hardly any info on what type of accommadations would one find themselves in and how to get in?

They're barracks. And there is a small basic cafeteria.

Interesting they are military barracks I saw they were demolition those in another post. I be curious what had became of the hotel that was on the island?
