Everything was going well. I didn't get the job because I agreed to the salary they posted online. He saw it as a problem and lowered the salary. He expects applicants not to mention what the company posted and brainlessly accept and be happy with the lower pay and a smile on their faces? I am sure I am not the only person who mentioned it in the interview. They want to hire car crash dummies.

They want stupid people as employees, or those who are too mealy mouthed to protest when being treated badly at work. You can't work there, since you are (1) too smart; (2) too confident; and (3) want to work for people or a company with integrity.

Good catch, and good on you for calling the "error" to their attention. It does sound as if they are trying to lure applicants in on a false pretense. I've read in the news that businesses are having trouble filling some jobs, so maybe the company is desperate.

Continue looking for a job. There are good companies, good people out there to work for.

I already found another job which will start in a few weeks working from home.
