My husband had another interview today...seems promising (there are 4 open positions for his interest, so he's not competing for one slot.)
They told him they're looking to hire someone by Oct 20th (when their training class starts). I plan to have him send a thank you note to the HR manager via email tomorrow morning, however seeing as how the hiring decision isn't right away, I'd also like to follow up with a thank you note via mail on nice stationery.
Any idea on when it should be sent? Right away? Or later to make a "final" impression?
Also, after interviewing with the HR Manager, he was interviewed by the Assistant and Branch Managers....should he send a thank you note to each individually or reference the Asst & Branch Managers in his note to the HR Manager?

I always ask for anyone who interviews me for their business card. I handwrite a thank you note and pop it in the mail the same day (the next day at the latest). I tell them thanks and include the date of the interview and the position I interviewed for as well as my phone number (just incase)
I typically send it within 48 hours. I make sure I get all the business cards and make note of something "special" about each interviewer so I can personalize each letter just a bit. For instance, "Lets hope those Dodgers win!" if we discussed this during during the interview. Just from my experience, I know notes get forwarded on to other people including those also in the interview process so it's nice to stand out with a little more personalization.
