Sounds like a hell of an applicant pool over there. Top notch. Nothing but the best.
We get three types of applicants:
1. The guys who are on extended benefits and obviously don't want to work, but in order to get their check they ahve to apply for "X jobs in a week. (I'd say this is half lately)
2. The guys who really want to work but just have no qualifications for teh types of hiring we do. ie no diploma, no legal right to work in the US, no experience, no certifications, etc. (About 45%)
3. The small pool of people who are skilled and certified in the industry the company is in, want to work, and have the legal right to work in the US. (About 5%)
For someone whose job it is to assist people with few or no skills to find and keep work, you have a pretty negative attitude towards that demographic group.

I don't recall having a negative attitude toward individuals who have limited work experience and looking to grow
But it's not wrong for you to look down on me because I don't make a 6 figure salary??????
I don't look down on you for that. I look down on your for your arrogance in saying that people are scum for working where they can find work and acting like it was a breeze for you. For acting like you are above working at certain places. I look down on you because you are a hypocrite.

So you are telling me that I'm not supposed to have the confidence in myself to know I can do better than a fast food job?
And i never said It was a BREEZE for me, I said I stayed positive and never gave up and eliminated a social life so I could achieve my goal.

I'm saying that you put down people who need a job when they are saying that they will work fast food, retail, etc. There is nothing wrong with that. Guess what, I worked a retail job for $6 an hour when I was making six figures at my day job. I LIKED working there, and I never felt it was below me.

That's the problem. At one point you talked about giving up on the search until the fall--that's not giving up? You couldn't even decide whether to where a coat to an interview or not on a cold day. You couldn't decide to answer the phone or not without asking for advice. You asked the most absolutely ridiculous questions that my five year old neice could have figured out, and yet you are the one who is supposed top have these types of answers as a "job coach." I'm not sure what you get paid for, because you obviously don't have the answers.
And now that you got VERY lucky and found a job, you constantly toss it in peoples faces about how easy it was and act like it should be easy for them and constantly put people down for not having jobs.

No I put people down who are unemployed and refused to be positive and change hat they are doing to get a job.
Do you think my resume stayed the same from February to May? I had to come up with brand news ways of getting a job every day not sit around and say-"I have no job because of the economy"
What is wrong with grey hair? I would like to hear a sincere opinion from someone who hires professional, mature adults. Thanks...
