Nowadays there are many choices of Passover food adaptions to substitute for leaven products. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good kosher for Passover substitute for hot oatmeal.
for me, instead of hot oatmeal
i have hot mashed banana. or applesauce.
i always keep lots of frozen bananas in the freezer (without the peels) for use at anytime.
I have a question about oats. Are oats not kosher for Passover? I ask because the GF matzah that is kosher for Seders are oat based. Since I am Celiac, I can only eat GF oats and it can't come into any contact with gluten.
There are five grains from which matzah can be made and they are susceptible to becoming chameitz. Oats are one of them. So if properly supervised and prepared, oats can be used to make matzah. But they, if not made following the strict rules on Passover, become chameitz.

Thanks, rosends. I bought the "safe for Seder" Matzah.
I don't think Passover is hard for Celiacs, everything I'm reading is saying it's quite the opposite.
One is only obligated to eat matzah on the first night (and on shabbat). Use oat matzah. Other than that, avoid matzah (and matzah meal, cake flour and farfel) and all is done. Most Passover replacement foots are potato-starch based so that those who don't eat gebrochts can have them as well.

That makes sense. I'm going to be eating meat, vegetables, and fruits. Anything else, I bought "gluten free and safe to eat for Passover." I'm not going to overthink it.
That is an interesting suggestion. I will have to see if there is any matzo farfel at one of the kosher markets near me.
