After serving my time in Saint Joseph I am about to be able to get out of here but be unemployed. I want/need to move down to KC and look for a job there. For reasons of business of past/current I need to live on the Missouri side but I am not into long commutes. I was wondering where the best places to live where commuting to possibly anywhere in the KC area would not be too bad (relative I know) and is a nice place with townhomes to rent. Outside of luxurious, rent should not be a problem. For example Blue Springs is nice but I would not want to have ten months on my lease and get a job in Overland Park.

I was thinking of Parkville but it does not appear to have townhomes for rent.

There are some newer apartments in North Kansas City. I think some may be townhomes. They also have some really nice townhomes for sale there. It doesn't get much more centrally located than NKC.

If schools are not an issue I would look at places in Wornall/ Central/ Red Bridge area. You will be close to Overland Park and relatively close to downtown. Most buildings will be older, but many will be renovated, so I suggested looking at them before signing a lease, but since you are in St. Joe I would guess you plan to take a look before signing a lease.

If you want to be central to everything, live in central kc where you will find far more town houses than any other part of the city. All commutes would be reverse, and all suburbs would be about the same distance.

There have to be options in the River Market to Brookside corridor. I'm sure there are many condos for rent right now.

When you mention it, there are townhouses on the west side of Brookside, south of 75th. I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of exact locations right now.
