PBS documentary about Overland Park's Strang Line debuts | News | Sun Publications

Will be interesting to watch. I find KS rail history interesting in general.

Despite, what you may think, I will actually hunt this down to watch it. Because I'm very interested in "KC" rail history. .

So thanks for posting, didn't know about this. The old Strang Line went all the way to Olathe and the regional commuter rail system was one of the country's largest, if not the largest at the time. Much of the right of way of the St Joe line is still intact. Just one more reason it's sort of sad that any form of rail transit has not been re-established in metro KC.

It will be interesting to see if it is accurate or if they, as have other revisionist historical accounts, leave out how Strang cheated and defrauded the original line owner, Hocker. The original name of the line was the Hocker-Strang line. There is a tendency to gloss over the truth and give Strang a favorably mythical image.
