Man, you guys are brutal. To the OP, there is plenty of shopping in the area near the stadium, if that is your thing. These are just some of the stores in that area:

Wilsons Leather
Tommy Hilfiger
Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
Oshkosh B'gosh
Nike Factory
Levi's Outlet
Jockey
J Crew Factory
Gap Outlet
Converse
Christopher & Banks
Brooks Brothers Factory Store
Banana Republic Factory Store
Ann Taylor Factory Store
American Eagle Outfitters Factory Store
Aéropostale
Adidas Outlet

A lot of these stores have retail versions on the Plaza where you would pay twice as much for the same merchandise. I'm not saying don't go to the Plaza, but when people are throwing verbal bombs like "it's just another outlet mall, don't bother going there", you deserve to hear a different viewpoint.

Thanks this is very helpful. Looks like we'll have to walk around the outlet mall maybe before the game if we get there early. I try to keep my shopping at home since its cheaper and we dont have Sales Tax on clothes. I dont know if thats the case in KS. But we'll defiantly hit up the Rocky Mt Chocolate Factory. Thanks Again!

Yea, but if you are only in KC for one day, then be sure and see what is unique to KC (plaza, downtown, westport, crown center etc) if at all possible. The "immediate" area around the speedway/soccer stadium is a nice suburban retail district, but it's nothing that can't be found in any suburb of any city or even other suburbs around KC.

Another Arab hangout near the Plaza/UMKC is Sahara (mostly students) on 51st next to Pizza 51 on map shown. Food is OK but Zaina (downtown) and Alladin (W39th) are much better.

But since you are only here for one night, will be hard to hit much in KC.
