I live w/ my buddy near Zona Rosa in a townhouse, so naturally he does not own the land his home sits on, and it is managed by an association that so far is doing nothing about the problem, but their "aware of it". I'm going to be starting shiftwork soon which means sleeping during the day. The feral cats that populate the yard set off all the dogs in the neighborhood, which means no sleep even when I have all sorts of devices to create white noise.

I checked with Kansas City animal control and they consider ferals to be wild and they have no jurisdiction over wild animals. They will take ferals for free if we spend the money/time to trap them ourselves, other than that, the only option is to consider pest control firms or natural deterrents.

Can somebody confirm the legal end of things for Kansas City limits and/or offer any humane suggestions?

Thanks.

About $40.00 for a live trap and $1.50 for a can of Tuna. The easiest and quickest way possible.

Well, we thought of that, and might have to, so far the warm weather has been keeping them away, so maybe once the real heat of summer sets in we won't see them. On a similar note, we're also spending more time in the yard, and their not aggressive farm ferals, they run like hell when they see us, so an increased outdoor presence is helping too.

Try contacting Warm Fuzzy's, they rescue feral cats. Of course as most rescue groups they are always low on volunteers and funds. If you show some genuine interest and empathy for the stray felines, you will get more help in return. WARM FUZZY'S
