Preferably somewhere you can drive up to in your car and just chill and relax and enjoy the view would be great. Not sure if there are such places here in KC. I guess with the city being on the plains doesn't help much.

Of course somewhere that offers a good amount of privacy that's still safe and no hassle from patrols would be a big bonus of course

Places near Briarcliff have a good view of downtown, as do some of the hills in midtown. Downtown is low, because it's on the river, so you pretty much have to perch yourself on one of those hills to see it from afar.

Liberty Memorial is generally the best postcard shot vista, but it ain't exactly private.

The levee at Downtown airport. It's not as easy now as it used to be though. You could park in one of the parking lots and walk up to it and probably not get harrased by airport police if they can't see you at night, but it's an amazing view if you can swing it. Most views of KC are pretty far from downtown other than that. Maybe waterworks park. It's a little further, but still a decent view.

Also a little further, but nice view from the office park off Cambridge

Google Maps

and here at the Dean parking lot

But Water Works Park is probably the best, closest and safest place to go (no airport police )

Kaw Point is a great view. Not sure how safe it would be at night though. Same with various spots in Penn Valley Park. The Scout is a great view, but you have to walk there and at night it might not be the smartest thing to do, although I've done it many times.

Thanks for all the replies!

Yeah the Scout is familiar to me, although I've never been there at night I do not plan to. They did recently add a huge floodlight to light up the scout so that was nice. I have also went down to kaw point on my bike one early evening but late night may be a bit sketch.

Otherwise I will definitely try out the other places. Downtown airport will avoid simply because of DHS/police trouble. But Water Works Park and Case Park sounds cool!

Case Park used to have issues at night (not exactly safe) and because of that cops would patrol regularly to clear people out. I've heard gays have public sex at Water Works Park like they do at Penn Valley Park (Scout area), but I'm not sure of the validity of that. Probably true, but who knows.
