i don't know if people outside the kansas bubble realize this, but brownback has supported a sensible immigration policy. kansas isn't an everirify state and i would like that to be recognized. even though we had complete control over the policy in the past couple years.

I am not sure what you are saying. What I read, as typical of politicians, was that Brownback doesn't make a very clear statement at all. He has to be careful because KS is dependent on illegal labor to keep wages and benefits down and welfare of our citizens up - think federal money coming in for the welfare types and also for the illegal children admitted to the schools. This is why KS does not e-verify. Some employers do e-verify and generally they are the employers offering better pay and benefits. KS cannot afford to end up giving public assistance to all of the illegals in the state should they have a path to citizenship that would qualify them for such and the low wages here is one of the reasons that Medicaid was not expanded here because so many people would qualify at a time when they have just farmed out Medicaid to for-profit insurance companies. It is mess!
