I'm interested in Wind Energy in KS. I was wondering if anyone had any insight, opinions, advice on careers etc.

I think KS has a tremendous opportunity to create a stable revenue stream to the Great Plains parts of the state while helping meet the future energy needs of the rest of the nation.

I see them putting in HUGE turbine fields west of the Chicago suburbs. Remember, power generation is best when it's close to the user.
With that said, I'd think about finding out what states have lots of this and post to those forums? They might know whats up in the midwest?

Kansas already has some wind farms. One is located near Wichita and I've seen some in western KS near the highways. They're huge. There is also a college in Kansas that teaches students how to fix and make those wind turbines and stuff. It's the only college in KS that has the field major.

Siemens is building a new wind turbine factory in Hutchinson, which will be up and running in December, and Kansas was just rated as the #2 state in the nation for wind by the DOE.
