Aloha Kaua'i! We are looking for the Honda EW 171 Welder Generator that was taken from the parking lot of Vidinha Stadium on Friday night after the Lights on Rice Parade. We were dismantling our float and HOPEFULLY it was mistakenly picked up. This generator is HEAVY so it would take 2 people to carry it. We rented this generator from Toolmaster. It was right next to a white Ford Explorer. Please call 652-6547 if you have this generator or KPD. We would really appreciate it! Unless we find it fast we are going to be forced to pay a $2000 replacement fee. This is a non-profit Hula & Tahitian dance group consisting of girls ages 3-14 and will really set back the group if we don't recover this generator. So please if you are the one or know where it is contact us and do the right thing.

Mahalo

Good luck. We had ours stolen from our house when we lived in a different area of the world, and it was never, ever seen again. It was HUGE and would have taken at least two people to move it...we will never know how they got it around our big locking gate.

I would suggest monitoring craigslist or the local paper's classifieds for someone trying to sell it. I would suspect that Toolmaster would have a specific product ID number etched into the metal making it easy to identify/verify.

Can the Lights on Rice Parade organizers provide you with a participant contact list? If so, you can contact other groups who were there to see if it was mistakenly taken (or saw it being taken)?

Another thing to try is a Craigslist ad offering a reward or some signs around the area with reward no questions asked.

During the Lights on Rice street parade we left the generator out next to our car. Then when we got back we noticed it was missing. So long story short I posted on CL and another reader saw our ad and read another one saying they found something valuable and put 2 & 2 together, hence we got it back. Craigslist is the communication device here for the island that is for sure. Lost a dog a few years ago posted on CL and had him returned in a few hours.
