I am here!
It is so beautiful!!! We are going to have a blast and THANK YOU for each and every single person who contributed. I will post photos as soon as I return to the Bay Area in 11 days!
Hitting Anini first thing in the morning and then see where the day takes us. The Canyon is in for the next day and McFrostyJ we downloaded the Kauai app! Thanks so much for that suggestion.
Well I don't think we will be going anywhere today. This storm woke us up and it is quite a vicious storm that is supposed to last over the entire island today.
Well we did not see this thing coming. Going to the South Shore won't help us out in this situation. We did rent a jeep but I think it will be too dangerous to risk it from the mountain stream run off to get out on that narrow two lane road.
I hope you get 10 days of upcoming sun - but as a warning to others, this time of year can be daily rain and not those 10 minute passing rains - especially on the north side of the island.

Today ended up being so very beautiful. Wow just WOW! When we left San Francisco yesterday it was 34 degrees! I am so thankful to be in a place that has the same weather as my hometown. I am LOVING IT!!!
Wow this Island is truly Paradise! The Hawaiian’s are just as strong willed but as friendly as Texans! We are going to Waimea Canyon to hike tomorrow.

Wow tried the Lau Lau from Koloa Fish Market and it was the bomb!
We snorkeled all day and it was my first time to ever do this! All of the fish and turtles were so curious about us. I loved the world under the sea! We will go scuba diving on Thursday.
Today was awesome! The weather was so lovely and the people are so kind and wonderful here.
I so regret not bringing my GoPro recording camera!
Also I would like to ask if it is customary to tip the crew that take you out on the ocean to snorkel or scuba dive? We tipped the snorkeled crew today but just not sure if this is appropriate or expected or how much is appropriate. Thanks to anyone who can answer.
It is customary to tip for a lot of people if it was a great trip but many don't. In terms of how much, that really depends on the service and what you are comfortable with. If it's a good trip I'll generally leave $20 - I've given more and less.
