You mentioned Glasgow, and I live outside Glasgow in the rural farm country. I've only been living here a year and I love it because of the small town atmosphere and very friendly people. Since you have small children, I would agree with the suggestion above that some place like Berea would be a better area.

I live in Frankfort, Kentucky. I have lived here most of my life. Before moving to Frankfort I lived in Stamping Ground. It is a small town that kinda reminds me of modern day Mayberry. My great grandfater started a small trailor park over 40 years ago that is now being ran by my father and uncle. There is one grocery store one gas station and a General Dollar store was built a year ago. The local elementary school is within walking distance to any kid living in Stamping Ground with a nice park and play ground. It is the kind of place where cars stay unlocked and keys remain in the ignition. It's about 15 minutes from Georgetown where there is only one high school, Scott County High, and what I believe to be the largest Toyota Plant. Plenty of good elementary and 2 middle schools and a variety of churches for any faith. Lexington is on down the road about 20 miles where there is plenty to do!Lexington is considered to be one of the safest, cleanest and friendliness cities in the US.Horse Capital of the World you have the Kentucky HOrse Park and Keenland. Frankfort is the capital of Kentucky and what I consider one of the greatest most diverse places to live. We have a lot to offer from small city enviroment to small town friendliness. There is Kentucky State University for the sportsman, University of Kentucky just 30 miles down the road and the University of Louisville about an hour away. The Kentucky River runs through Frankfort which made the bourbon trade so popular here. That also puts us in the middle of The Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Kentucky also offers over 60 wineries throughout the state. Also check out Versailles There is plenty to do see and explore in Kentucky. Just make sure to do some research. I hope you find this helpful
