Where you are working-No where yet. Move is a year off.
-How much you are willing to spend on housing-800$ for rent
-How long of a commute you're willing to tolerate-45 mins at most
-If you have kids: Private school or public school? Public
-What type of neighborhood environment you are looking for: small town feeling? small city excitement? suburbia delight?Smallish town feeling but real close to big city
-Community amenities important to you-parks,festivals etc
-Pie or cake? both!

I am most interested in 2 towns. Ashland and Georgetown. What can yall tell me about them? I LOVE Ashland because its close to Huntington and shopping etc but its not quite WV. Georgetown I know nothing about but it is close to Lexington which I like and its got a smaller town feel. Any other towns east of interstate 75 I should look at? I want near interstate for traveling, close to LARGE town/city so either close to Lexington or Ashland/Huntington,WV. Good schools are a must have also.

Anyone? Pretty much marked Ashland off the list after reading more about how things are going downhill etc over that way but Georgetown and a few other towns are on my list still in Ky.

I'm thinking Paris may suit your needs. It's about 15-20 minutes north of the heart of Lex, up one of America's most beautiful roads, Paris Pike. You can find rentals for around 700 a month for 2 or 3 bedrooms and it has a great grocery store, Ken's, along with a Save-a-lot and a WallyWorld. Georgetown is about 15-20 minutes due west, and Winchester is the same distance due south. I64 is also to the south and I75 is to the west and both not but 15 minutes.
There's always something going on in Paris! Car cruises, Secretariat Festival, Art Walks, farm tours, concerts on the Courthouse steps! The town has several good dining establishments and B&B's, a great museum, and a little arboretum. It also has a drive-in movie!

I'd try to plan a trip to see the area and that will help you to determine what town would suit you. Good luck with your search and most of all, have fun!

Sounds nice! Oh we will certainly make a trip as we are considering 3 states and different areas in those states. Can't wait! Fortunately I have a friend that's from Ky near Berea so she knows a lot about the areas.
