Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... good info johnsonkk. There is a specific retirement forum ? Since taxes are always a constant, I want to pay special attention to property and sales taxes......

If you're talking sales tax also, Kentucky's sales tax is 6% with no tax on food.

Yes. It's a separate forum under General forums listed below the states on the overview pages.

But, you will notice that Kentucky is consistantly listed as one of the best states to retire to, because your taxes drop significantly upon retirement age. You don't pay an income tax here when you retire (unless you are wealthy).

Here is a helpful site for tax information on all the states. I find it helpful. Even breaks down the counties for you for taxes. Kentucky Property Taxes By County - 2015

Kentucky doesn't tax retirement, our sales tax is 6%, not on food, or pharmacy. Our property taxes are low. So all around it's a great place to retire.

THANKS Cat Lady .... that's one thing I DO like about KY , how property taxes drop for 65 and older..... Your sales tax is good, and no tax on food is great. As far as personal property tax, that would be on items like vehicles ?
