Hello
My fiancé, dog and myself are moving to Kentucky as part of a promotion in my work.
However, I've never been on KY before aside the Louisville airport so I literally have no idea how the living is down there.
We are Mexican living on San Diego, CA. so do you have any advice for us on this movement?
My work location will be in Georgetown, however I heard that many people working there actually live on Lexington, so do you have any neighborhoods that you recommend?

All advices for us will be much appreciated

I would suggest you post this in the Lexington sub-forum. There are several people there who will be able help you much more than I can.

Hi! Lots of people live in Lexington and work in Georgetown, but actually it is more common that people live in

Georgetown and work in Lexington, at least as far as I have seen. I have had several coworkers in the past who commuted to South Lexington for work.

It mostly boils down to where you want to live in a city or a town. My husband worked in Georgetown for 15 years, but he wanted to live in Lexington (mostly because he had only lived in larger cities before and I think the idea of living in a smaller town made him nervous.)
I think it is a bit more expensive to live in Lexington than the surrounding towns, but you get more amenities close by. We live in South Lexington and this is a nice area with not much crime. Hamburg is nice also...but then again so are a lot of neighborhoods in Lexington. Since you are coming so soon I suppose you looking for a pet friendly Apartment, rental home or town home?

Hope your move goes smoothly and welcome to Kentucky!
