I bought a home in adolphus Ky in 2007 and have just found out that the LAND is in my name but the HOME is not. so finding this information I called my realtor she said she would check into it and call me back in which she never called me back I called her again left a message no return call so then I called western kentucky title company talk to the attorney who prepared the paperwork she said the oddest thing to me said yeah I remember we didnt know there was a home on the property til a survey was done which makes no sense at all to me so here it is 3 weeks later no call back from her either so the home is in the prior owners name but land in my name something about this ordeal just seems fishy to me .. I was wondering if anybody knows what I can do about this problem.

Is the home a stick built, manufactured, or modular? In Kentucky, the law was changed about 2004 regarding manufactured home titles. Manufactured homes are "personal property" instead of "real property" until the title is "converted". You have several options, but you will need appropriate and competent counsel from an attorney.

It is a manufactured home .. ok the previous owner told me when she got it refinanced through chase bank it was converted but up at the recorders office they said it never was so I have no clue. so if real property then it would have went through the process without being switched in my name?

Here's the basic difference: Personal loan vs mortgage loan. A personal loan is a car loan, while a mortgage loan is typically backed up in part by the value of the land as land does not depreciate. Chase should be able to answer most of your questions.

my home is bought and paid for. it was the previous owner who had it refinanced through chase bank I don't know all the details on that part .. I don't have any loans on the land nor the home was paid cash. I feel I getting further and further away from this problem .. Couldn't just me and the owner go up to the recorders office and have her switch it into my name or something?
