My husband is being transferred from Texas to KY to work on the Fossil Fuel Plant in Bedford. He will be arriving in May with my son, new born daughter and I to follow in the summer before school starts. I have read several threads and am interested in the Odham County area - La Grange maybe. We should be in KY for a little over 2 years before being transferred back to our home town to start construction on additional units at a nuculear power plant in central Texas.

My son will be in first grade and loves to play baseball and has been playing on a "select" team the past year. Are there good baseball programs in the area?

Andy advice and information about the area, housing, etc... is greatly appreciated.

yes, try La grange. It would be the best option school wise, and is just a quaint little exurban town. it is growing from the Louisville sprawl, but you would be traveling in the opposite direction. Also, being in La Grange would put you closer to major shopping and the cultural amenities in Louisville. Oldham is chock full of familes, as it is a bedroom community to Louisville. Most are middle to upper classs, and there is a good amount of transplants like yourself. I see youth soccer and baseball fields everywhere, although I am unsure of leagues. But yes, I would move to Oldham. La Grange is affordable and wont be hard to sell your home if you pick a unique property.
