Farmer's Almanac? Seriously, unless you want a guessed guess, you will find that most winters between Bowling Green and London will have average temps of 45-50 daytime highs with 20-30 night time lows. There could be one to two weeks of below 20 highs, and single digit-teen lows. There is a greater but not terribly significant chance of ice rather than snow. In March & April there is a greater chance of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms than in the Ohio Valley and eastern KY mountains. Not a harsh risk by any means, as all of Kentucky is relatively storm free. Just the news makes more racket now than in years past. I compare this to air crashes verses fatal auto accidents. 100-150 people per day die in US auto crashes. Maybe one or two fatal airline crashes every 5 years now.

Go out. find a wooly worm. The more black that is on it, the worse the winter They have an 80% accuracy rate (per Bernheim Forest)

Winter in Kentucky and "Predictable" usually aren't found in the same sentence. They can be very mild, though I remember 4 feet of snow drifts and -20 wind chills as a child in Casey County (Blizzard of 92?).

Judging by the wooly worm in the parking lot at work today, we will have a mild winter. He looked identical to that pic.

We have several that my granddaughter has collected this week. Mostly they are about 1/2 brown and 1/2 black. I did see a few that were all black, but not many. The pastures are full of them.
