once when I was a kid visiting my cousin in CA, she ask me "what does ya'll mean ? " and " is the grass really blue ? " NORTHERNERS ! LOL

They just don't know any better... at least she wasn't suprised that you wear shoes

I have told this before but I actually had an elementary school teacher who moved here thinking we didn't wear shoes... and she had the nerve to tell the class lol

Well, I didnt wear shoes in the summer, unless I was going somewhere.

I recall there was this thing where you supposedly couldn't drive barefoot, so you put a sock on your foot to be legal.

Oh I hardly ever wear shoes at home but yea, going out somewhere I do ! LOL ! Mostly wear sandals when it's warm (have been known to slip them off while driving and in church....sshhhh )

I hate closed toes shoes in the summer so I am either always in flip-flops or barefoot lol BUT it is by choice, not because I have to like some Yankees think.

I say in-trest also, Missy. If he is not a native, that is understandable I guess. I have been told Kentucky has it's own accent as compared to other southern areas. When I go to Nashville, I do hear the difference in the accents compared to an hour away in Bowling Green.
