Water mitigation (Erwin: insurance, houses, buying)

Good Morning All: I found a house on-line in Erwin and it's just what the
wife would like to live in, problem is, according to the property condition
report is that the basement floods in heavy rains. Anyone out there have
any experience with companies that provide waterproofing/water mitigation for homes?

In my search for a home I found an interest in Erwin. Almost all the houses I was interested in were in a flood zone. I checked with my insurance agent and after seeing the cost of flood insurance decided to look elsewhere.

Secondly, when I lived in another location most of the basements took on water to one degree or another. I had estimates as high as $20k to fix the problem. I sold the house and moved on. Basements with water problems lead to mold problems. I suggest you throughly investigate this situation before buying any home with a known wet basement.
