Hello,

Can someone tell me how much it might cost to rent a 3 bedroom house in Kingsport??? We are looking for the best area with the best schools. How much would that cost us to rent? We would eventually buy but for now we want to rent.

Thank you,

CS

It just depends. $1,000 to 1,500 could be reasonable.

Default Rental Costs Vary Greatly

Rental housing is very limited here since there is not a lot of movement in and out of the area, and there was not as much development as some places. $900/month is about right, but it depends on the quality of home you are looking for. Sometimes hard to find in the $900 range, but there seem to be more in the $600 range (not good quality/areas), or the $1400 range (great if you can afford it!).

I personally liked John Adams elementary school. It is new and is very nice, and has good teachers. It is a little farther out than some other places, so it may not fit depending on where you work. It was built in a new subdivision that may have homes available to rent, but they are expensive. There are usually 3BR units to rent in the Willowbrook community (homes/condos) that run about $900/month. Some are a little older (1980's), but usually well-kept. Very nice neighborhood too, but not very many children.

Washington elementary (multi-age school) is nice also, but it's hard to find rentals in that district sometimes.

Only one high school (Dobbins-Bennett), but it's a very good school. I think there is only one middle-school, but there may be two.

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SEARCH!
