This sounds incredible... I just can't figure out where exactly it will be located.

I hate that you now cannot read these articles online. I do not have the print edition of the paper, any word on the pricepoint for these apartments? I like alot of what I hear going on and planned around downtown, this would certainly be a big help. Will the development include a parking lot?

Apartment complex planned in downtown Johnson City transformation

"The former Plasma Biological Services building, which has been for sale and sits on the corner, will be leveled should everything go as planned, and there is a planned walkway that would divide the new structure and the existing 14-unit Olde Towne Lofts."

That is down State of Franklin I think. In between Legion St. and ETSU

It's the old plasma center location that used to be at the corner of S Roan and State of Franklin. The online article has been updated. It sounds like it will be very nice.

As far as I can tell, it's the corner of SoF and Roan diagonally opposite the Cherry Street parking lot, across Roan Street from the Bridal Boutique. That would also place it close to the Old Towne Lofts which is mentioned in the article. I wonder if they are going to tear down the existing one-storey buildings, or are they building in the existing surface lot behind these structures?

The article quotes Steve Neilson (JC's long range planner) as saying there will be no parking constructed with the building. I think that's pretty progressive and will go a long way towards making us a 24-hour, real downtown. There's plenty of spots at Cherry Street, the parking lot behind Nelson's (unless that's where this is being built), and in the larger lot on SoF just down the road a bit.

I doubt they can rent half the units if they have no parking unless they make it incredibly cheap- but I hope im wrong.
