Starbucks, other shops coming to Millennium Park’s Lot 8

Johnson City needed another Starbucks. Their North Roan location is always jammed up. Good to see things happening and an uptick in development.

I like Starbucks here. I don't like the style and scale of the development, at least what was pictured in the JC Press article. This is super valuable land and could stand one of the highest available uses in the city. Mixed use, fronting State of Franklin with apartments on top. Ugh, this city and its developers really don't have any vision.

This fits in very well with the style of the city already- I have no problem with it. I do think we are beginning to get a bit overexposed to the frozen yogurt type shops- but the market will work that out and those with less quality or more expensive prices will close.

As a prime lot across from ETSU, it's good to see the property being developed for the good of not just State of Franklin but also the nearby student community. Starbucks is obviously a hit, froyo is a trendy item, and college kids are always hungry. From a student convenience standpoint and an economic stadnpoint (think sales tax), this development makes so much more sense than a credit union.

Yayy! I'm glad a Starbucks is going to be on this side of town. My sister and I used to go to the one on N Roan St, and it's nearly impossible to get out of the parking lot unless you go late in the evening.
