The Tennessee High School Mighty Viking Band from Bristol was named Champions of their class at the USSBA Southern States Championships in Chattanooga Tennessee!!! Dobyns-Bennett out of Kingsport also won their class. Way to go guys, all that hard work pays off!

Wow, both Sullivan county schools which has some of the lowest property taxes yet the highest percentage of money going towards schools. Tax money at work, I love to see that! Good job Sullivan county, DB and TN high!

Keep in mind mbmouse, both of these schools are in Sullivan County but they are city schools, not county schools therefore we pay both city and county property taxes.

Yes I know, but Sullivan county gives 36% of all sales tax revenue to both city and county schools. They are about the only county in the state that does this, so not only do they get the city tax funds but some of the county sales tax too!
