I'll avoid names, but I am finding it difficult to locate a dry cleaner that does not recycle its dry-cleaning fluids/chemicals. If your dry-cleaned clothes stink, it's the chemicals. A news station in Texas, where I lived, did an interesting story on the subject. The smell is caused by reuse of dirty chemicals, so that basically the same fluid with all the dirt from other people's clothes, is going through your "cleaned" items. Yuck. Be wary of anyone offering super-cheap dry-cleaning...it can indicate reuse of chemicals. Not all cleaners recycle, so I'm looking for experiences with local cleaners. Back in the 80s, Acme Cleaners on Knob Creek was great, but it went out of business. Is the other Acme Cleaners (Unaka???) related? I drove by it for the first time the other day, and should have stopped.
