Does anyone know how safe the Hallmark Apartments are in Oak Ridge? Is it true everything on Tuskegee Rd is unsafe and crime ridden? Anyone lived there or known someone who has and what did you think about the place as far as crime, safety and just general opinions on the apartment complex?

I do not know anything of these apartments, personally, but the rent is too cheap and that would send up a red flag.

Laura, I don't recall these apts unless they are old ones that have been renamed. In the job I had in OR, I pretty much knew all the apt names. I don't think I'd get into any apts on that side of IL. Are you thinking about moving?

Looks like another Teller Village to me. Unless it is absolutely all you can afford, my recommendation would be to avoid an income-restricted apartment complex in that area. Check into British Woods and Tara Hills and see if they fit into your budget before committing to Hallmark or anything in the "valley" area.

These apartments are actually new apartments that opened in 2009. We were the 1st couple to actually live in them. They are very nice apartments and management are very nice or was at that time. They have 2 full baths for 2 bedroom and up, every apartment comes with a washer and dryer in unit, has microwave over stove, refrig. has ice maker. Apartments are very nice and neutral in color. Central heat and Air, Utilities were fairly low, We had moved due to loss of income but at this moment we are looking to relocate there. I truly would give these apartments a Five star given at the time we were there unless anything has changed. They have 1-3 bedrooms available. As for crime or neighborhood, We never had any problems with anyone in the area, it was generally a safe area but of course like most anywhere you live you will have crime but we did not have any problems there with management or tenants as they began to move in. It actually was quite and we could watch deer play in our back yard and a horse stable was next door and walking distance to all your stores and restaurants.

Does anyone know anything about this place, is it safe area - my main concern- im considering getting a rental here via online ( have not moved yet )

Five years ago, I looked at their apartments. I thought they were rather depressing and passed on it. At the time, my husband had a job in Karns and we were considering Oak Ridge. We ended up renting just north of Powell. I have since heard from people on this forum that it is not the worst place but far from the best place to live.
In fact, other than the previous poster in this thread, I don't recall anyone having glowing things to say about any of the apartment complexes in Oak Ridge, which is rather odd considering how many scientists and other people in related fields, move into town. I think Laura C rents - or at least she did for awhile - a condo. Private residences seem to be a very good move in that area.
