Shawn, I'm so sorry for your difficulties and there are many others facing similar circumstances this year.

There are a TON of services available to provide assistance for children during the holidays. Unfortunately, it very well may be too late to sign up at this point. You can start by calling The Salvation Army, CAC (Community Action Coalition), Dept. of Children and Family Services, and some of the larger churches may offer assistance and/or should have a list of resources available.

Good luck, Merry Christmas, and God Bless...

We are having a very tough time, as well. Fortunately, my daughter's teacher must have put her name in somewhere because she is part of the Angel Tree network and will be going to a party at a church near the school on Saturday.

I know what you mean. We are having problems with road construction in front of our business and to say we are having a hard time is a major understatement. People like us don't rely on service or other people, usually, and don't know where to turn.

What if I don't want to volunteer to make myself feel warm and fuzzy inside, rather to give up my christmas due to the realization that I have everything I need to sustain myself comfortably and I could be warm and cozy in my house with my family but there are human beings out there that don't have those privileges due to what ever circumstances and I would like them to experience a warm and loving Christmas Like I have had most of the time?
