Long time no see. I have daughter here from Spain and she loves Indian food. Googling them we have lots in knoxville.Can anyone recommend which one is the best. I have already tried the new one in Pigeon Forge for their buffet and was not impressed.

I have an Indian student who lives in Pigeon Forge and has said the same thing. But he really likes Sitar on Kingston Pike in the Bearden area in Knoxville. It has a buffet at lunch is strictly à la carte in the evenings. Even with the buffet you can ask them to add some extra spice to something and they'll gladly do it (it can be rather bland otherwise, at least for Indian food and for those who have had the real thing elsewhere).

I love Indian food, and I like this Kingston Pike Taj the best: www.taj fineindiandining.com/ The Kingston Pike one is not affiliated with the Taj on Cumberland Pike. Sitar is a regional chain, and has decent food: www.sitarknoxville .com I prefer the Kingston Pk. Taj over Sitar because 1. Better food 2. Less repetition in buffet items 3. They serve land and goat, which Sitar does not serve. 4. Buffet hours are longer. After out last trip to the Cumberland Ave. Taj, we said, not again. Very slow service, despite being nearly empty, watered down sauces and out of key ing. Groc. stores sell Indian food items as well here.

I wouldn't go to Sitar. They were on "Food For Thought" a couple of months ago with a health score of 41. They did not make any corrections in time for a re-inspection and were given 48 hours to get it cleaned up. On the second re-inspection all they could do was a 77
.

I saw that too and I was surprised at how many people were still there right after that aired. I guess you can still be successful even when playing the odds.

Have been to Taste of India in Pigeon Forge a couple times now for dinner and found it pretty good. Food was on par with Indian food I've had in other parts of the world. Haven't tried the buffet, but I've never been to a buffet that was all that great anyway. Only have done regular dinner menu there. .
