Hi all,
I have interviewed for a job in Sevierville and they have already called my references. Job offer is not set yet, but I would like to do some initial research and learn more about the area. I currently live in Karns so I am pretty familiar with Knoxville, but not too familiar with Sevier or any of the surrounding counties. If I stayed in my current home, my daily commute would be 40 miles one way. If I am offered the job, I am thinking about moving to either Sevierville or to a surrounding city that would make the commute a bit more reasonable (20 miles or less). Some places I have considered are: Strawberry Plains, Sevierville, Seymour, and Pigeon Forge. Are there any other areas to include or avoid? I kind of like the idea of living in Pigeon Forge, but I have only been there to take my kids to the tourist attractions.

I am married with 2 children ages 6 and 8. We currently own a cookie cutter Smithbuilt home in Karns, 3 bedrooms, bonus room, 2 and a half bath in a nice neighborhood. I wouldn't mind something similar, but I am definitely open to other options, I just don't know what is out there. My kids are homeschooled so while I would like to live in a nice school district it is not necessary. Looking for a nice family friendly neighborhood with parks, shopping, and not too far from civilization. Our budget for a home would be in the $200,000-$250,000 range, with a minimum of 3 bedrooms. I am also considering renting at first, in order to become more familiar with area, but I am not really sure. Does anyone have any advice on which areas meet these criteria?

Thanks so much!

The commute would be horrible. Find a house as close to your work as you can.

Agree. My husband used to work in Sevierville. Even the traffic withIN Sevierville is bad, not to mention getting TO Sevierville.

Good luck.

It would give you results for Sevierville and surrounding areas.
