What is a reliable, popular cell phone company to have in the Knoxville area?

Thanks!

My employer has a corporate account with Verizon. I was using Sprint PCS personally. When I saw the difference between my cell phone and my husband's we switched our entire family to Verizon.

All of my friends who have Verizon have AWFUL cell phones -- the actual, physical phone. They're all slow and prone to freezing! The service seems Ok, though.

I have alltel and have never experienced a problem.

Have to agree wtih you jabogitlu on the cell phones themselves. The only one that I like is the Motorola Q but my work paid for it, I wouldn't spring for it personally. My teenagers hate their actual phones and we can't easily upgrade until August.

Suzanne, may I ask why Cingular was not good? That's what we have now. My 12 year old wants a phone and I was going to get her one, but we need to sign a 2 year contract. If I'm not going to be happy with Cingular's service there, I'd rather wait until we move. Can you give me some more information?

My husband's Cingular worked inside the home but not once he entered the yard. Also spotty use in and around Maryville. So far, Verizon hasn't let him down. I will probably change from Sprint when we make the actual move.

I suggest Virgin Mobile prepaid or pay as you go. I have it, ONLY use it as a cell phone, and love it. It does do texting, which I'm sure your girl will love.
