I had problems with my washing machine and had a great experience with the repair guy I called. The first call he spent about a half an hour telling me what to check, how to fix, and hold the phone over the washer so I can hear. Call me if this doesn't work.

Well it didn't work, and actually got worse. Called him today, he comes out, and charges a service call, but if he does work, then the service call is included in the repair bill, which I thought was fair.

My Maytag washer that I thought was 4-5 years old has a bad brake and transmission. He told me that if it isn't under warranty, then go shopping and not bother having him come back.

I called Maytag and found out my washer was bought in 10/1999 and has a 10 year warranty on the transmission. They are sending out the part ($265.00), and I will call the guy back to install it.

It just shows that it's a good idea to send in the purchase information when you buy something. I think I had him check out my refrigerator several years ago, and he rigged a repair and told me when it went out again, to go shopping - it was dead.

I am very happy with the service I got from him, TWICE. It's Mike's Appliance Service and his number is 256-7696.

I should also mention he showed up when he said he would.

I called Mike today and he came last minute and looked at both of my freezers. Said one wasn't worth fixing (5 yr old Fridigaire with bad compressor) and took care of the other... for a fair price.
