We'll be heading over to Knoxville this week. We just moved to TN and hadn't been this way yet....sooo

What are the must-see's while we're there. Mostly interested in historical stuff less Mall's (no big shopper gal here).

Thanks!

I don't know if they have home games this week (sorry, a bit slow tonight) but you might want to try to check out a UT Basketball game (mens/women), Womens Basketball Hall of Fame, Knoxville Ice Bears hockey game, Blount Mansion, tons of great restaurants, Cades Cove (GSMNP), drive through Sequoyah Hills neighborhood just to name a few. Enjoy!

I know the men's basketball team is at home against Memphis Saturday, so that should be a great game - might be somewhat harder/more expensive to get tickets, however.

East Tennessee Historical Society downtown on Gay Street. Museum of Appalachia just off I-75 North in Norris, TN. American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. Other great options for history of East Tennessee.

The tourism bureau should have a booklet about the historic homes. Coming from the west, stay on I-40 until the very end, take the ramp to summitt hill, turn right. On the corner of Gay st is the visitor's bureau with a scrolling Marquee. Turn left on Gay and they have free parking beside the building.

There are several house museums in and around downtown.
