Just moved to the Oak Ridge area. We are a lesbian couple and are looking for a church to attend. Can anyone make any recommendations that might be somewhat "gay friendly or tolerant?" Thanks so much!

Hi!

Of course, there's always the uber-accepting Unitarian Universalist (couple different congregations to choose from) -- also there's a church near West Towne Mall in the Rocky Hill area. It' called the Metropolitan Community Church on Nubbin Ridge Road and it has a website. I have a friend, Todd, that heads up the Knoxville Human Rights Group and he and his partner attend that one and really like it. We actually have a meeting tomorrow night if you'd like to come and meet some folks or DM me and I'll get that information from him tomorrow.

Thank you so much! We have been out of town and we just read your message. We looked at Metropolitan's website and also looked up the Unitarian church. Both look like very good possibilities. We would love to come visit Metropolitan.......still getting settled in but hopefully can attend in a couple of weeks. Thanks again for such great information! You have really been a tremendous help!
