Anybody heard of or know of this Walnut Bend subdivision going up on the Cherokee Lake? The place is not yet built up but it looks promising. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
ToMM

I've mistakenly posted this in the wrong area I believe. How do I move this post to the appropriate city, like Knoxville?

Whitesburg is about 20 minutes east of Morristown and 10 minutes from the famous Archie Campbells Bulls Gap. Cherokee Lake in that area, is raised and lowered, so you would want to be sure, about that, and I have family that work in Morristown, and are in real estate, and I will check with them, about developers, and what the plans sound like and let you know.

It's in Hawkins County and near Rogersville, which is a pretty little town and one of the oldest in Tennessee.
Town of Rogersville
Lake Cherokee can come and go a lot. I've got some friends who live on it in Moorseburg and sometimes there's a lake right there and sometimes you can't see the water at all, just acres of grass. There are main channels with year round water, but it depends.
That area is pretty rural and very country.

Thank you mbmouse.

Good info keep the replies coming. Since posting this in the wrong area, I've decided to purchase a couple acres in the sub-division. Looking forward to building one day. The lot is inland and not waterfront, so waterfront prices were not involved. Although, I have a good view of water and the surrounding mountains.

Sorry, didn't see that Whitesburg the first time. That's on 11-E, the other side of the lake from Rogersville. There's a subdivision by the same name on the other side of the lake.
Bulls Gap is an interesting little town. Good dirt race track there.

That's okay, it looks like I'm roughly equal distant from either town.
Yes, heard of Bulls Gap before as well. Of course Morristown has mixed reviews here as well but from what I've seen, it's a pretty neat town.

Thanks for the info, Rogersville looks interesting, can't wait.

And check out Greeneville, southeast of you. Claims both President Andrew Johnson and Davy Crockett.
Greeneville, TN (http://www.greenevilletn.org/community/index.htm - broken link)
Greeneville has a lovely downtown. The centerpiece is the General Morgan Inn.
Welcome to The General Morgan Inn
Greeneville used to be the center for tobacco warehousing and there was a lot of money there in days past. It's changing but holding onto the good things.
